- The State of Illinois Report Card for District 65 issued on October 31 showed the drop in Black teachers in the District over the past 10 years, from 16% or 17% of the teaching staff to the current 13%, representing a drop of about two dozen teachers.
- As School Board Vice President Anya Tanyavutti said at the October Board meeting, "If our institution is not prepared to let [Black teachers] bring their whole selves ... they won't stay."
- The District has promised to implement no later than December 21st a plan to support and retain Black teachers in the District.
